COVID-19 Protocols


We care about your safety and we are excited to gather in-person in Boston, USA. 

World Council is actively monitoring and following the COVID-19 recommendations of the World Health Organization. We are in contact with event conference sites and local public health officials about proactive measures being taken to protect you. As more updates and information becomes available, we will communicate directly with registered attendees and our membership at large.

On-Site COVID-19 Protocols
Although not required, we encourage attendees to practice safe meeting practices. Social distancing and masks are optional based on each attendees comfort level. 

Frequently Asked Questions

What travel requirements should I be aware of related to COVID-19?

Attendees of the World Credit Union Conference are responsible for complying with all COVID-19 guidelines and travel requirements as established by local authorities. Be sure to review all guidelines required to enter the United States.

AS WELL AS any requirements to re-enter your country of origin. Be sure to review any requirements by your national government to return home. This may include the requirement of a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure. 

Note that all requirements are subject to change, and you should plan to recheck them closer to the event.

What happens if I am unable to comply with COVID-19 related travel requirements or if I test positive for COVID-19 prior to travel?
Attendees are eligible for full refunds to conference registration fees on or before 14 June 2024 if they cannot or chose not to comply with the COVID-19 guidelines in place for the event at that time. 

Should an attendee test positive within two weeks prior to arrival for the conference, please contact Kassi Schroeder at kschroeder@woccu.org for a full refund. Last minute refunds will be processed following the event. 


COVID-19 Assumption of Risk

Attendees to the 2024 World Credit Union Conference to be held in Boston, USA acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that they may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. Attendees assume all of the foregoing risks (whether COVID-19 related or other) and accept sole responsibility for any injury while in attendance (including, but not limited to, sickness, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that they may experience or incur in connection with having an event during this time. By registering for the event attendees release, covenants not to sue, discharge, and holds harmless World Council, their employees, contractors, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.

World Council of Credit Unions does not accept or condone any individual attendees traveling with active symptoms of COVID-19, or a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. If you believe you may have COVID-19 or are experiencing any symptoms, World Council strongly encourages testing before travel and/or before attending the conference. According to the CDC, active symptoms include but are not limited to: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal congestion or rhinorrhea, vomiting or diarrhea, and skin rashes. Any attendee with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to participate in the conference. Should you feel unwell or are exhibiting any of the aforementioned  symptoms but test negative for COVID-19, we still request you not participate in the conference.
